Star Trek (2009) Blow by Blow Movie Review
-First off, let me say I was way off on my pre-summer prediction for it. I only had it pegged at 140M. That was more then 100M off. It managed to breakout of a date where prior releases failed. It also managed to out-shadow the summer’s big opener which is a tall task for any film.
-I did not love it but I sure was more entertained watching it then most of the features in May.
-It did not translate well in FauxMax but that did not take away from my viewing experience.
-Quinto’s performance as Spock in my opinion, owned the film. It was such a difficult role and he handled it with extreme vigor.
-Also, comparing Pine’s role as Kirk to Bottle Shock is amazing. What growth!
-I wish Scotty had more screentime. He was a joy and helped break some of the tension.
-The time travel thing was kind of cheap but it worked within the realm of the film and that’s all one can ask for.
-The bad guy left something to be desired. His motivations did not seem to fit his outward anger. If he followed Occam’s Razor, he would have won, but then again, we would not have a film.
-I would recommend getting this on Blu-Ray, if possible.
